Survivor Title
If I leave a mission because I have to go during a mission, but I am not in combat, do I lose my survivor title?
Thanks! |

Nope, you won't lose your survivor title because you left during a mission or quest. (It's a handy mechanic for when things go sour.)

You only lose the survivor title if you die.
Simply leaving/mapping out doesn't kill you; just removes you from the instance. A lot of people will use this technique as a means of escaping death so as not to lose their survivor title. |

You only lose survivor when you die, and deaths only occur when your health reaches 0. Map travelling/closing the game will never be why you lose survivor.

Not all deaths count. You lose survivor only in deaths that count.
That doesn't always happen when health reaches 0. Instant-kill traps, for instance, don't add deaths. Deaths that count are all noted in the wiki. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Survivor#Types_of_deaths |

Many have posted saying that mapping out will not cause a death, and they are correct. What they fail to mention is that if you're having a laggy day then it may take some time longer than it appears for GW to realize you are no longer in the instance. This can mean that you die half a second after you map out/close the game if you were under attack when you did it.

dying stops the title...dead in its tracks.
Map out all you want just let everyone know that you are mapping out cause they might report you and get you banned for 72 hours. |

I don't think they ban you for leaving a party in PvE without giving warning. But still, you should give a warning to your party that you are going for survivor and ask if it's alright that you leave when things go bad. Because leaving a party isn't very nice, I did my survivor mainly in a full h/h team or with a guildie/friend who didn't mind me mapping out. In the end, I only had to map out twice during the entire title. Just make sure you bring enough healing (I usually took discordway, two monk henchies and two other henchies: one resto discord and the two monks in addition to the healing from dwayna's sorrow was plenty).
